Vrisha Chikitsa

Vrisha Chikitsa or Vajikarana Tantra is a specialised branch of Ayurveda that focuses on enhancing sexual health and fertility. Vrisha Chikitsa includes a range of herbal remedies, dietary modifications, and lifestyle changes that are designed to improve sexual function, increase libido, and promote fertility. It aims to balance the three doshas in the body and enhance the production of semen, ovum, and other reproductive fluids.

Vrisha Chikitsa in Ayurveda

The treatment approach in Vrisha Chikitsa is personalised and depends on the individual's unique body constitution, lifestyle, and health status. Ayurvedic practitioners specialising in Vrisha Chikitsa recommend specific herbs and supplements, such as Ashwagandha, Shatavari, and gokshura, to improve sexual function and fertility. Various lifestyle practices, such as yoga and meditation, can assist in this treatment.

Besides improving sexual health, Vrisha Chikitsa also promotes overall well-being. It helps to boost energy, improve mood, and promote a sense of vitality and vigour. This branch of Ayurveda recognizes the importance of sexual and reproductive health as a part of overall well-being. It provides a natural and holistic approach to improving sexual function and fertility.

The imbalance of the three doshas (vata, pitta, and kapha) and the buildup of poisons (ama) in the body are both factors that Ayurveda views as contributing to infertility. By removing these poisons, reestablishing the doshic balance, and encouraging healthy reproductive function, Vrisha Chikitsa aims to improve the overall health

Ayurveda also advises a nutritious diet that includes nutrient-dense foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, complete grains, and lean protein sources. Additionally, it stresses the value of consistent exercise, stress reduction, and sufficient relaxation

In Vrisha Chikitsa, yoga and meditation are also advised since they can ease stress, boost circulation, and encourage relaxation. Some yoga poses, such as the Cobra pose (Bhujangasana) and the Fish pose (Matsyasana), can support better reproductive health and endocrine system stimulation
